Born 1961. Earned a PhD in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. One of the most accomplished Chinese tech executives in Silicon Valley. Career: IBM Research, Yahoo (VP of Engineering), Microsoft (Executive Vice President of Applications and Services, 2013-2016, one of the highest-ranking Chinese executives in US tech). Recruited by Robin Li to serve as Baidu COO and Group President (2017-2018), where he accelerated Baidu's AI transformation. Personally recruited by Sam Altman to lead Y Combinator's China office (2018-2019). Founded MiraclePlus (formerly YC China, then renamed) in Beijing, a startup accelerator that has backed 340+ companies including many AI firms. Known as a bridge between Silicon Valley and Chinese tech ecosystems.
