浙江大学电气工程学士，中科院自动化所模式识别硕士，印第安纳大学计算机硕士，爱达荷大学计算机博士。在微软研究院工作 16 年+，率先将深度学习应用于语音识别。与 Hinton、邓力等合著的 DNN 语音识别论文（2011）开启了语音领域的深度学习浪潮。2017年加入腾讯 AI Lab 任副主任。发表 200+ 论文，多部语音识别专著。2026年1月底离开腾讯。
Zhejiang University Electrical Engineering BS, Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Automation MS (Pattern Recognition), Indiana University Bloomington CS MS, University of Idaho CS PhD. Was among the first to apply deep learning to speech recognition at Microsoft Research, where he worked for 16+ years and became a Principal Researcher. His work on DNN-based speech recognition (2011, with Hinton, Deng Li et al.) was a landmark result that started the deep learning revolution in speech. Joined Tencent AI Lab as VP in 2017. Led research in speech processing, multimodal interaction, and LLM-based NLP. Co-authored 200+ papers and several books on speech recognition. Left Tencent at end of January 2026.
