吴永辉 Wu YonghuiWu Yonghui

Graduated from Nanjing University, then earned a Master's in Statistics and PhD in Computer Science from the University of California, Riverside (2008). Joined Google in 2008, spending his first 7 years as a software engineer on core search ranking. From 2014-2023 at Google Brain, working on machine learning, genomics, and NLP. Promoted to Google Fellow in September 2023 -- a senior-level position equivalent to VP. Best known as the first author of Google's Neural Machine Translation System (GNMT, 2016), which transformed Google Translate from phrase-based to neural. Joined ByteDance in February 2025 as head of foundational research for the Seed team (Doubao large model), reporting directly to CEO Liang Rubo. Also created Seedance 2.0, ByteDance's breakthrough video generation model.
