American entrepreneur and engineer who co-founded Anysphere, the company behind the AI code editor Cursor, after studying at MIT. Launched in 2023, Cursor pairs frontier LLMs with deep editor integration (multi-file edits, agentic completion, codebase-aware chat) and became one of the fastest-growing developer tools, crossing hundreds of millions in ARR. The company raised at a roughly $10B valuation in 2025, making Truell, born around 1996, one of the youngest leaders of a major AI-coding company. In June 2026 SpaceX agreed to acquire Anysphere for about $60B in stock, days after Cursor’s IPO.
