Born in Jordan; worked on developer tools at Codecademy and Facebook (including React Native tooling) before founding Replit in 2016 with Haya Odeh and Faris Masad, on the idea that a browser tab should be enough to write and ship software. Replit Agent (2024) turned that into agentic app building for non-programmers. A $400M Series D led by Georgian in March 2026 valued Replit at $9B — triple its $3B valuation of September 2025 — as annualised revenue jumped from about $300M to $525M in four months; Masad has set a target of $1B ARR by year end. Outspoken that foundation models are commoditising, that AI doom arguments are weak, and that young people should learn to direct machines rather than compete with them.
