Born 1986 in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia). Relocated to Toronto at age 15. Earned a BS in Computer Science and Physics from the University of Toronto (2009), MS from the University of British Columbia (2011), and PhD from Stanford (2015) under Fei-Fei Li, working at the intersection of NLP and computer vision. Created and taught Stanford's CS 231n course, which grew from 150 to 750 students. Became a founding member of OpenAI (2015-2017), then joined Tesla as Director of AI and Autopilot Vision (2017-2022, reporting directly to Elon Musk). Returned briefly to OpenAI (2023-2024). Founded Eureka Labs (July 2024) to build AI-native education. Also known for his popular YouTube channel and Rubik's cube tutorials (9M+ views). Named MIT Tech Review Innovators Under 35 (2020). In May 2026 he paused Eureka Labs to join Anthropic’s pre-training team.
