French engineer and co-founder and CTO of Mistral AI,leading the company's technical direction. He met co-founders Arthur Mensch and Guillaume Lample at Ecole Polytechnique,and spent roughly eight years (2015-2023) at Facebook AI Research Paris,first as a PhD student and later as a research engineer,where he contributed to Meta's LLaMA family and published research on large-scale model training. In April 2023 he co-founded Mistral AI alongside Mensch and Lample to build open and efficient foundation models.
