Computer vision researcher who earned his PhD at Stanford advised by Fei-Fei Li,where he co-taught the CS231n deep learning course. His work includes perceptual losses for real-time style transfer and the CLEVR visual reasoning dataset. He became an assistant professor at the University of Michigan while also working as a research scientist at Facebook AI Research. In 2024 he co-founded World Labs with his former advisor Fei-Fei Li to build 'large world models' for spatial intelligence; the startup raised over $1B and launched its Marble world-generation model.
