American computer scientist, assistant professor of CS and EE at Stanford, where she leads the IRIS lab on robot learning. BS in EECS from MIT, PhD from UC Berkeley co-advised by Pieter Abbeel and Sergey Levine. During her PhD she created Model-Agnostic Meta-Learning (MAML, 2017), an algorithm for fast adaptation of neural networks to new tasks from few examples, now used across RL, vision and beyond. Worked at Google Brain, and in 2024 co-founded Physical Intelligence with Sergey Levine, Karol Hausman and others to build general-purpose robot foundation models (π0). ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award; a prominent figure in embodied AI.
