Co-invented the Diffusion Transformer (DiT) with Saining Xie during his UC Berkeley PhD (advised by Alexei Efros) — the backbone architecture behind modern video generation. At OpenAI he built and led the Sora video-generation team from research to product, departing in April 2026 as the Sora app was wound down.
